I loved the Jasmine tea and was dreaming of it to this day.  It is wonderful, very sweet but I just love the fragrant taste.  The wait staff was extra friendly and attentive.  Answered any questions we had about things on the menu.  Food was good and they subsituted things for other items.  A great place to go definetly recomend it.

I went here tonight for dinner and I had an amazing time! The restaurant was beautiful and very tastefully decorated, it was very clean and nicely organized. The people waiting on us were extremely helpful and just amazingly friendly and inviting. The food and drink was beyond amazing and they have a large selection of vegetarian food and many of the vegetarian dishes can be made vegan easily without sacrificing taste. When I asked about the dairy content in the dishes the staff was very helpful and didn't make a scene about it. I didn't feel rushed at all and in fact I felt quite the opposite. While I was there I had the Vegetarian Platter (w/out sauce), Stuffed Grape Leaves, Namoura and Jallab and all of it is highly recommended. Also, the food was very authentic so if you're big on authenticity, you will find it here! I definitely plan to go back!
    *Btw- BEST pita bread!

A co-worker handed me a copy of their menu one day and, as I'm highly suggestible, I immediately decided The Husband and I should go for dinner that evening. We had the appetizer sampler and two pita wraps, all of which was very good. Our server was a very pretty girl -- probably the owner's daughter -- who was attentive and sweet. I loved that when she brought the appetizer platter, she identified each item for us. We didn't need it, but there've been times at other restaurants when that would have come in handy, so I appreciated the extra effort. The owner came over near the end of our meal and greeted me by name (turned out the aforementioned co-worker knew the owner and called to say I was coming) as though I were an old friend.
Definitely one of the better restaurants I've found in Albany.

I always wish that more people knew about Phoenician's.  This place would get 4 stars for food, but gets an extra star for the great service.  The first time I went, the owner made a point of coming over and talking in detail about our opinion of the food (not just one of those shallow "how is everything?" statements...he REALLY wanted to know how everything was).  He actually gave us a recipe to try out at home for hummus in eggplant!
Their hummus is probably one of the best I've ever had (maybe tied with the hummus at Garlic Lovers Corner).  We had their Hummus with Meat and fell in love.  I've sampled the falafel and the chicken shawarma wraps and both were very good.

    Unique atmosphere, Wonderful food
A gem of a place! Prompt, warm service, beautiful interior with handpainted murals and more importantly delicious food. The beef schwarma is a must. Oh, and everyone should try the jallab which is a drink made of dates. It is evocative of the Middle East. Also, the owner - in the tradition of his country of birth - was very warm and welcoming making sure to greet his patrons throughout the evening.

Verdict: I will probably visit this place on a weekly basis. It is reasonably priced, the takeout is lightning fast, the staff is very friendly, and the food is delicious. If you read this go give the place a try. It would be a shame if this place closed down as it is really very good.
